INTREPID MEDIA ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF REVENUE SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF RALEIGH
Project is One of Several for The City
Intrepid Media Inc. today announced the launch of the City of Raleigh's new Revenue system, thereby successfully concluding a project that touches every household in the Raleigh metro area, although said households will not and should not be aware of it. The system, a web based cashiering and revenue collection and distribution system, allows the City to take payments for various services, including utility bills, business licenses, and others, and interfaces with several homegrown and off the shelf applications.
"This really is the definition of seamless," said Joe Procopio, President of Intrepid Media, "They've evolved the flow of revenue out of client/server and into the web based world and the end user shouldn't notice a thing. You can pay your bills online, over the phone, by mail, or in person, and the experience should be exactly the same, only a little quicker."
Intrepid Media was brought in to manage the various application providers, consultants, vendors, and internal staff to coordinate the upgrade of the software, the creation of new interfaces, and the successful deployment using a tightly integrated methodology and engineering approach.
"All the pieces had to be in the right place at the right time. Every system has to be on, working, responsive, and accurate from the very first minute. We wrote the longest deployment plan that they had ever seen, but it paid off. Within the first hour, late on a Saturday night, they had already taken dozens of payments on the new system."
Intrepid Media continues to work with the City on several technical projects, including a massive ERP integration which will begin rollout in the second quarter of 2009 and continue into late 2010.
