Initiative
Nerve, an upmarket adult-oriented print magazine based in New York, sought to strategically place themeselves online as not only a content provider, but a niche online community, thereby making use of both ad and subscriber revenue.
Having already secured contracts from several different providers for such services as subscriber messageboards, email accounts, homepages, chat, image galleries, personals, premium content, and e-commerce, Nerve found themselves at a crossroads: how to tie together these disparate and incompatible services under one site, with one backbone.
Solution
Intrepid Media worked with each provider's API to develop NerveCenter, a single backbone that uses the central server to automatically log the user into each provider's server as well as update their records within each system when necessary. The site is a huge success and, although it has since been updated a few times over, the site is profitable and still maintained with just a small staff.

"Joe took us through from beginning to end. We had partnered with six or seven different companies, so the challenge was to bring it all together, so when you navigate the site, it all has the look of Nerve with seamless integration. The results were great."
