Oracle Database Administrator
The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for all functions associated with the efficient design, implementation and maintenance of Oracle databases for a PeopleSoft and SOA applications. The primary roles and responsibilities include the implementation, architecture, backup and recovery, and monitoring of an extremely large Oracle database layout leveraging both 11g and 10g RAC technology. This role also includes planning for and overseeing the integration of consistent database administration methodologies and documentation on a department-wide basis and for providing support to all IT development staff in managing their solutions. The Database Administrator is responsible for administering the organization's software to manage their environments. These environments include Oracle Utilities, PeopleSoft and the supporting databases.
Required Skill Set: The Database Administrator must have strong Oracle Database experience with depth in Linux scripting, GRID configuration, GRID monitoring, configuration management, and security. This position will be primarily focused on being a leader in Oracle RAC database technology. This position will require knowledge of Linux, NetApp, NFS, Oracle, and CRS. Monitoring and maintenance will require in depth knowledge of OEM/GRID. This position requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent and at least 10 years experience as an IT professional.
Candidates MUST have experience in the following areas:
* Oracle database on Linux
* Oracle RAC (10g and 11g)
* Linux shell scripting (Automation)
* NetApp storage, snapshots, snapclone, SMO, and NFS
* Production operational procedures
* Ability to read and tune SQL and PL/SQL Statements
The following skills are desirable but not necessarily required:
* Oracle PeopleSoft architecture (PIA)
* Oracle DB skills in an Oracle PeopleSoft environment (HR, FIN, ELM, EPM, PORTAL)
* Oracle management tools (GRID/OEM installation and configuration)
* Oracle scheduled jobs and statistics optimization
* Oracle GRID monitoring configuration and install
* Knowledge on Emerging Database Technologies
* RedHat Linux OS (64 and 32 bit)
* Oracle on OVMS
* Oracle data migration
* Oracle Applications Server (OAS) administration and installation
* WebLogic Application Server
* PeopleSoft on Linux
* Oracle Customer Care & Billing

Rand Rand has over 14 years of project management experience, including 9 years in technology, and his specialties include PMO development, portfolio management, business case development, functional and technical spec development, QA, deployment, and support. Previously, Rand managed large, complex projects for Wake County and the NC Administrative Office of the Courts.
